After Jeffe De Brabandere obtained his master’s degree in visual arts in 2020 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerp), he is now in his fifth year as a professional artist. De Brabandere’s work mainly consists of drawings, sculptures and installations. So far, he has focused on mainly two themes: animals and history. He often brings together relics consisting of animal bones, old volumes or worn-out utensils, ... After graduating, De Brabandere was represented by Galerie Geukens & De Vil until they closed the gallery in late 2023. For two years, he was assistant (unpaid) to Ricardo Brey (participated in the Venice Biennale in 2015). De Brabandere is also co-initiator and founder of the artist collective FAAR (For Artists and Residents). This collective currently includes about twenty-five artists. It provides studio spaces, space for meeting and conversation and organises exhibitions in Antwerp. De Brabandere’s participation in several group exhibitions such as Finis Terrae (2022-2023) brought him recognition. Several solo exhibitions were also a success. Jeffe also participated in two international artist-residenties so far, one in Finland in 2024 and one in South Africa early 2025
