Elen Braga (b. 1984, Maranhão, Brazil) lives and works in Antwerp. She is known for her multidisciplinary practice, which includes performance, textiles, installations, sculpture, video and art in public space. Her work, rooted in themes of resilience, self-transcendence, religion, mythology and identity, often emerges from self-imposed, labor-intensive processes that are both physically demanding and conceptually layered. In her oeuvre, her Brazilian origins and her life in Belgium are woven into one.
