FAAR | For Artists and Residents is a platform for artistic exchange and community engagement, rooted in the vibrant neighborhood of Borgerhout, Antwerp. Spread across two buildings, FAAR supports emerging and established artists through affordable, sustainably built studio ateliers, constructed using reusable and second-hand materials, fostering a community of artists, by artists.

At its core, FAAR is committed to facilitating dialogue and collaboration between visiting artists in residence and the local community. We believe in the power of artistic practice as a tool for connection, reflection, and social engagement.

In addition to our studios, FAAR offers an active program of exhibitions, open studios, events, and workshops that invite residents and artists to share ideas, experiences, and creative processes. Our exhibition space acts as a testing ground for new work and experimentation, prioritizing artistic research and exchange over commercial representation.

FAAR is not a gallery, nor does it represent artists commercially. Rather, it is a growing, adaptive platform that seeks to cultivate a critical, generous, and inclusive environment where artistic practices can develop in conversation with place and people. National and international artists, cultural workers, and curious neighbors alike are always welcome.
